Mouvements II
Ilana Baumgarten-Wajsblat
Igniting the senses with blazing intensity, this 2002 companion to Mouvements I fuses color and energy into a singular radiant moment. Ilana saturates the canvas with a feverish palette of scarlet, tangerine, and ochre, creating an atmosphere that feels hot to the touch. Central forms, loosely outlined in deep crimson and violet, suggest dancers in a rapturous embrace or bodies dissolving into light. Energetic, sweeping brushwork mimics the flickering of flames. It acts as a fiery counterpoint to the cool tranquility of other abstract works, reminding us that movement is not just a physical shift in space but a passionate, living force.
